  why would the wts want to get rid of fence sitter?

  as in, why are weak ones a burden to the cong, isn't that the whole point, to shepherd the flock?.

  does anyone know if the gb gets a paycheck, flies first class, how they vacation?

  Why would the WTS want to get rid of fence sitter? As in, why are weak ones a burden to the cong, isn't that the whole point, to shepherd the flock?

  Does anyone know if the GB gets a paycheck, flies first class, how they vacation? (I said/asked a few things to my mom who is convinced they are so loving and live poorly like other Bethelites).

  Why do they not encourage higher education- like the Mormons- wouldn't wealthier flock contribute more funds, thus more income?

  How does it benefit the WTS to have a poor flock? How does millions of hours knocking on doors benefit them? hardly anyone places literature in my cong, the literature servant said they had to cut their monthly order by 65/70 percent Because they had so much extra Material.

  hello all, as you know, when jw tv was announced, our board went wild.

  many comments, much speculation and alot of negative feedback on the quality, etc.

  well, what has me concerned is that i have not heard a peep from any of my connections left in kingdom-land.

  No one at a congregation gathering aid anything. Nor at meetings, I asked my closest jw girlfriend and she said yeah her mom told her. The most I have heard is sisters saying they like the Gilead Graduation. And... All the kids getting Caleb and Sophia indoctrination. Also, someone told me even though our hall is terrible, no spiritual refreshment or encouragement, we can listen to tv jw to get that spiritual refreshment. Gag.

  this cult is getting really shameless.

  the wt study was always supposed to be for discussion of 'the deep truths' of the bible.

  the wt may have always been filled with utter nonsense, but at least it had the appearance of a topical discussion of bible doctrine.

  Highlight of the day, getting home my spouse asked me " what's with all this urgency to preach, why don't we focus on our families and love"

  Why doesn't the GB make field service optional for certain congregation members only similar to the Mormons?

  ephesians 4:11 makes for a strong case that not every member of the congregation should have to go door-to-door.. "so christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,..".

  this shows that different members of the first century congregations served different ministerial functions.

  so why don't the jw's say that field service is no longer compulsory for all congregation members, only for those who feel a calling for it per eph 4:11..... the mormons sort of do this with their young men and women 'elders' doing 2 years voluntary, genuinely full-time service (these mormons boys put in some big hours 6 days a week and have their meals provided for them, etc!

  i totally agree... It will never happen.

  ive always eaten the birthday cake and given my friends gifts. I give my mom mother day cards too. I never was a JW at heart I guess

  couples having problems and getting divorced must be a problem in the jehovahs witnesses.

  the articles are definately an interesting read.

  they give plenty of bad advise as usual.

  I saw this yesterday, it also has the article about the memorial? They have the same advice in jw tv, for the kid being bullied. Pray, have family worship, and go out in service. All the people giving advice live in a bubble and know not of what they speak, don't listen!!

  My spouse just surprised me

  we are both off of work due to sick kids.

  while cooking lunch he turns to me and says, i don't know anywhere in the bible that jesus would give dates about the end coming.

  We are both off of work due to sick kids. while cooking lunch he turns to me and says, I don't know anywhere in the bible that Jesus would give dates about the end coming. He said to love, forgive, and love some more. Why are they so fixated on figuring out dates they can't guess? I was in shock and said, well, I think our whole religion is based off of 1914. He said he doesn't necessarily agree Or disagree. I said, well, if 1914 is wrong 1919 crumbles and the GB isn't Gods channel for us. then silence and he said we would talk later.

  Where do I go from here? I can't believe he even brought it up.

  the rumor mill and insight from this website has me dreaming of slipping out some, " my friend at bethel ( i have a few but their nobodies) told me coming up they are changing 144k, our name thus the logo changes, and the number of gb members".

  would i get in trouble, could elders legitimately talk to me?

  who are they if i have info from someone higher up and in new york?

  against my better judgement, i've decided to share the following as a response to guy pierce passing and the announcement of the elimination of district overseers later this year.. late in january (2014) i got an email from one of my contacts (a fader) who served at bethel for several years, but is no longer at wt hq.

  he still has a lot of close contacts within the service department and in other departments at patterson and knows people in all of the ny offices.

  i kept this email set aside on a flash drive and haven't shared it with anyone - figuring i'd publish an article about it later this year when i had more time to do it right.
